Read on to learn how the American Rescue Plan can help your small business.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>What are the Small Business Relief Details of the American Rescue Plan? <\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The American Rescue Plan expanded existing emergency business funding, and added several new grant programs to help some of the hardest hit communities and industries:<sup>1<\/sup><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An additional $7.25 billion in funding for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.headwaycapital.com\/blog\/what-need-know-about-newest-ppp-loans\/\">Paycheck Protection Program<\/a>. However, the March 31, 2021 loan program deadline has not changed. Additional legislation is required to postpone the current PPP loan deadline, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/116th-congress\/senate-bill\/3833?q=%7B%22search%22%3A%5B%22hr+2%22%5D%7D&amp;s=1&amp;r=18\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">though a bipartisan bill to extend the deadline was recently introduced<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Updates to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sba.gov\/funding-programs\/loans\/coronavirus-relief-options\/shuttered-venue-operators-grant\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Shuttered Venue Operators Grant (SVOG) program<\/a>, including opening cross-eligibility for qualifying businesses with PPP loans and the grant program. While PPP applications are currently open, the SBA is expected to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sba.gov\/funding-programs\/loans\/coronavirus-relief-options\/shuttered-venue-operators-grant#section-header-8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">open SVOG applications<\/a> in early April 2021 with $15 billion designated for the program.<\/li>\n<li>$15 billion in additional funding for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.headwaycapital.com\/blog\/coronavirus-sba-loans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Targeted Economic Injury Disaster Loan Advance<\/a> (EIDL) program, including $5 billion in supplemental advance payments for businesses that were hardest hit. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sba.gov\/funding-programs\/loans\/coronavirus-relief-options\/covid-19-economic-injury-disaster-loans#section-header-6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SBA will reach out to qualified applicants<\/a> for this program.<\/li>\n<li>$28.6 billion grant fund targeting qualified hard-hit establishments, titled the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/restaurant-revitalization-fund-american-rescue-plan-28-6-billion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Restaurant Revitalization Fund<\/a>. Grants are available up to $5 million for restaurants and $10 million for restaurant groups. The SBA and\/or SBA-approved lenders are not currently accepting applications for this program, but will release details when they become available.<\/li>\n<li>$100 million in funding to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sba.gov\/local-assistance\/community-navigators?utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=govdelivery#:~:text=in%20their%20communities.-,What%20are%20Community%20Navigators%3F,for%20small%20businesses%20underserved%20communities.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">develop a Community Navigator resource program<\/a>, which aims to help guide and support entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>How Do I Apply for Financial Relief From the American Rescue Plan? <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Some of the financial relief programs in the American Rescue Plan are available now, including additional funding through the Paycheck Protection Plan (through March 31, 2021). <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sba.gov\/funding-programs\/loans\/coronavirus-relief-options\/covid-19-economic-injury-disaster-loans#section-header-3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Qualified small businesses<\/a> can also apply for an Economic Injury Disaster Loan. PPP and EIDL loans are available from SBA-approved lenders across the country. Additional details regarding American Rescue Plan small business relief programs will be released as more information becomes available.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Can Small Business Owners Qualify for the Stimulus Payment? <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The American Rescue Plan includes <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/american-rescue-plan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">direct payments of $1,400 to qualifying U.S. citizens or permanent residents<\/a>, including small business owners, so long as they have a work-eligible Social Security number, are not dependents of another taxpayer and have an adjusted gross income (AGI) \u2013 based on the most recent tax return \u2013 <strong><em>up to<\/em><\/strong> the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>$75,000 if filing as an individual, single tax filer or married person filing separately<\/li>\n<li>$112,500 if filing as head of household<\/li>\n<li>$150,000 for married couples filing a joint tax return or qualifying widow\/widower<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>American Rescue Plan stimulus payments are reduced for individuals earning an adjusted gross income <strong><em>over <\/em><\/strong>the above income thresholds, but <strong><em>less than<\/em><\/strong> the income limits listed below. Additionally, taxpayers who earn <strong><em>more than<\/em><\/strong> the following adjusted gross income limits are <strong><em>not eligible<\/em> <\/strong>for direct payment under the American Rescue Plan Act:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>$80,000 if filing as an individual, single tax filer or married person filing separately<\/li>\n<li>$120,000 for head of household<\/li>\n<li>$160,000 for married couples filing a joint tax return or qualifying widow\/widower<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>AGI is based on the most recent personal tax return.
